Heat your oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box before baking.
Grease a baking pan that measures 9×13 inches with butter and flour.
Use crushed pineapple with its juice instead of water.
Add 1 cup of chopped pecans if you like.
Pour the mixture into the pan and bake as instructed on the package or until fully cooked.
When a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Prepare icing.
In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
Add powdered sugar little by little while mixing until everything is well mixed.
Mix until well combined.
